Jessica Caban is an American actress and former print model from New York City. She was born in Manhattan and raised in the Bronx and is of Puerto Rican descent. Jessica is best known for her role as Sonia in the critically acclaimed CW series Jane the Virgin (2016-2018) and for winning the first season of Model Latina, which launched her career in fashion and entertainment.
She first gained recognition when she was handpicked by Jennifer Lopez as the runner-up in the Jennifer Lopez Model Search (2002), which led to a feature in YM Magazine.
She made her feature film debut in Are You For Great Sex?, where she played the lead role as Thea Gala Larson, earning Best Actress awards at the Boston and Hoboken International Film Festivals.
In her earlier work Jessica has showcased her on-camera charisma as the host of Viva America, an upscale Latino lifestyle show that aired on BETJ. Including commercials and campaigns.
